until the Christmas Kaleidoscope!
starting promptly at 10:00 a.m. at Church for the Harvest on December 4th
with performances by the Jefferson Carolers, Pam Anderson, Church for the Harvest Children, and many more!
Wondering what to expect for the Christmas Kaleidoscope….over at Stuff Christians Like you can find a funny little field guide to the different types of kids you’ll find during a typical program. Join us at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 4th to see if you can spot some of the kids she mentions!
In case you missed the hand out on Sunday, here are the actions and words to the Preschool/Kindergarten part in the Christmas Kaleidoscope! We’ll be practicing Sunday morning before the performance at 9:00 a.m. as well! Looking forward to seeing the children perform!
Preschoolers/Kindergartners come up both aisles banging their drums to the song “Little Drummer Boy”.
Preschoolers/Kindergarteners stand on altar in a row-facing congregation and put their drums on floor in front of them.
Romans 12:12-13 (sung to the tune of: “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”)
Be joyful in hope, (Arms stretched above heads and big smiles)
be patient in affliction, (stand up straight with arms hanging down and hands clasped.)
be faithful in prayer, (stand up and have hands in prayer form in front of chest)
that’s Romans 12:12. (stand up and show “12” on hands…show “5” with both hands in front of self and then one hand shows “2”.)
Share with God’s people (R-hand swings in front of body and to R-side)
who are in need. (L-hand swings in front of body and to L-side)
And practice hospitality. (L-hand on waist and R-hand above head like holding a tray)
That is verse 13. (both hands make “13” …slap thighs with “5” hands and then one hand shows”3” in front of self.)
Then, the preschoolers/kindergarteners pick up their drums and bang on them while singing the Christmas carol…
“We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
Highlighted words preschoolers/kindergartners sing loud on =)
After the preschoolers sing, they stay up on altar and join Kingdom Kids in singing “Joy to the World”.
Get ready!! Our Christmas Kaleidoscope is almost here. We’re looking forward to great performances by the Jefferson Carolers, Pam Anderson, and many of our own church members!
Special note to the performers: Please arrive at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, December, 4th for a performance run-through before the service. Kingdom Kids (Grades 1st-6th) will be practicing their three songs at this time as well. The Preschool/Kindergarten class will also be practicing their part in the performance. Nursery and all kids will join together for a final song.
